Hello Friends -
We have learned that acquiring and restoring an historical building can be a long process, but we are happy to announce that the surveying of the property will happen soon. Knowing that, we have moved forward to the next stage which is assessing the damage to the church caused by years of neglect. Today members of our group including Rev Vasey met with a specialist on mold and lead paint removal We want to share the following pictures with you so you too can see the repairs that will be needed to restore the church. These images can be daunting and disturbing, but rest assured we are more determined than ever to get to work. We are hoping that you will also jump on board and help us by volunteering time and money to this cause. We plan to have a work day this fall to get a new roof on the addition as well as new doors so we can secure the church. More repairs will follow next spring. We have an account at the Benton State Bank that you can donate money to if you would like and we have also created a GoFundMe page.
